to San Juan
These villages suffered loss during the hurricanes Stan & Mitch
People respond favourably to the Kingdom Hope
Many lakeside homes are irrevocably under water
He excitedly showed us, between his work shifts on a coffee plantation, where the Kingdom Hall was up the hill on higher ground - he also took us to his home to meet grandma but sadly she wasn't there!
Typical home - San Juan
Many women here belong to a collective workers group - giving them protection & providing some financial stability.
Their products are fine & the women look happy & healthy
The wall murals tell their stories
These old murals also have a few stories ....
There is one congregation & one Quiche group in San Juan
Meeting at:
San Juan La Luna, Solola

And now a flower montage:
The last bloom was actually found on Nina's roof terrace in Antigua but I've included it here with the other plants & flowers, did you see the banana tree?
No, I know it's not there but I'll add they later too.

Upon arrival in the port of San Pedro
We noted a distinct hippy feel ..
Bustling with bars & cafés & traders but nowhere near as commercially pushy as Santiago ( on same lake )
Time for coffee & real Italian pizza
A couple from Lago di Garda Italy have set themselves up selling fresh pizza to passers by or those with leisure time.
Well worth it!! Delicious xxx
This presented an opportunity for us to witness to an American tourist who lives in Hawaii who was also in the cafe.
My photos of the beautiful Kingdom Hall in neighbouring San Juan came in handy too, enabling us to show him where he could find our brothers locally.
In fact when we landed at our first village Barbra said to a local, 'we are looking for our family; we know we have family here even though we have never met them; even though they speak in a different tongue we are keen to find them!' This was met with a puzzled look. Barbra explained that we view all in our organisation as our family.
How true it is - when we meet our brothers & sisters we immediately sense the bond we have.
In Panajachel we stayed with Jason & Shannon (who house sit a 3 bed home on the lake).
We ate out with Bill & Nancy Gross and other friends in Sunset Bar (although we missed the sunset! Our fault through a miss communnication)
Must be 200+ Lilies in this arrangement, back home they cost £1.50 per stem wholesale at Covent Garden Market, Nine Elms, London.
The flowers are very cheap here & of the best quality
Ian & Laura made haste to catch us up after another little shopping experience!!
Does it contain any other new acquisitions?
Bag + Trousers!!!!!!!!!
Our captain who we nicknamed 'Flash of the Titanic' had incredible long pointed toed flashy leather cowboy boots & belt with huge buckle accessory.
Then this other character below called himself DeCaprio - probably due to the titanic reference, but Titanic (Captain Flashs's Boat) was not a good name for a boat although it ferried us safely around that day.
Try the steak or chicken!! I have never tasted food like the food here, tastes like I'm dreaming!!
The two spiritual brothers own & run Guajimbo's have a productive jw table situated adjacently.
At the table are Bill & Nancy, & Shaun with our vacation comrades.
As you walk the street here on any day local people hold on tightly to their precious book or brochure that they have just acquired from this marvellous provision. This initiative was truly promoted by Jehovahs spirit & is reaching into areas & the hearts of people we may have previously missed.
...... So back in Antigua for more .....
I spy some bougainvillea, an amaryllis and is that a pink poinsettia?
